FaviconDL

A local stdio MCP server for retrieving existing website favicons. The extract_favicon tool accepts a domain or URL and an optional size, then calls the free FaviconDL API to return icon URLs, source information and metadata. Useful for bookmark cards, dashboards and Agent workflows. No API key is required. This is a local source installation, not a hosted MCP endpoint or an AI image generator. Website: https://favicondl.com/ — API docs: https://favicondl.com/documentation.html. Setup instructions: https://github.com/sweesama/favicondl.com/blob/main/mcp/README.md.

What this does

FaviconDL exposes a set of tools to Claude over the Model Context Protocol. After you add it to claude_desktop_config.json (snippet above) and restart Claude Desktop, those tools become callable inside any conversation.
